1. What Telehealth Is
Telehealth refers to the delivery of health-related services and information using electronic information and telecommunications technologies. Through telehealth, a licensed healthcare provider may review your health information, conduct a clinical assessment, and make clinical decisions — including, if appropriate, issuing a prescription — without an in-person encounter.
Telehealth is an established modality for many types of health services, including certain types of primary care and specialty consultations. However, telehealth is not appropriate for all conditions or all clinical situations, and it is not a substitute for in-person care in circumstances that require a physical examination, diagnostic testing, or emergency intervention.
2. How Provider Review Works
When you submit an intake through NoBsRx or an affiliated clinical partner platform, your intake information is transmitted to an independent, licensed healthcare provider for review. That provider will:
- Review the health information you have provided in your intake form
- Apply applicable clinical guidelines and professional judgment
- Determine whether, in the provider's independent clinical judgment, telehealth is appropriate for your situation
- Determine whether, if appropriate, a prescription may be clinically appropriate for you based on the information provided
The provider review process is conducted by independent, licensed providers. NoBsRx does not influence, direct, or override any clinical decision made by a licensed provider. Treatment decisions are made solely by the reviewing provider.
3. Technology Used
Telehealth services facilitated through NoBsRx may use asynchronous (store-and-forward) telehealth technology, where you submit information electronically for review at a later time, rather than a live, real-time video visit. This approach is commonly used for intake review and prescription evaluation in certain clinical contexts.
NoBsRx and its clinical partners use technology platforms that are designed to meet applicable healthcare data security requirements. However, no technology platform is entirely free from risk. Internet connectivity, device issues, or service outages may affect access to telehealth services.
4. Potential Benefits
Telehealth-based provider review may offer the following potential benefits:
- Access to licensed provider review without requiring an in-person office visit
- Ability to complete intake at your convenience, on your schedule
- Potential access to provider-guided weight-loss treatment options that may be available through telehealth in your state
- Simplified administrative process for obtaining provider review
These are potential benefits only. Results vary. Not all individuals will be found eligible for treatment. Licensed providers make independent clinical decisions.
5. Potential Risks and Limitations
Telehealth has inherent risks and limitations that you should understand before proceeding:
- Incomplete assessment: A telehealth review based on a written intake form does not include a physical examination. Conditions that require a physical exam, laboratory testing, or imaging may not be adequately assessed through telehealth alone.
- Information accuracy: The accuracy and completeness of the provider's clinical review depends entirely on the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide. Inaccurate or incomplete information may affect the safety of any clinical decision.
- Technology failures: Internet outages, platform disruptions, or device failures may delay or interrupt telehealth services. NoBsRx is not liable for clinical outcomes resulting from technology failures beyond its reasonable control.
- Provider determination: The reviewing provider may determine that telehealth is not appropriate for your situation and may recommend or require in-person evaluation. This determination is a clinical judgment made solely by the provider.
- Not appropriate for all conditions: Telehealth is not appropriate for emergencies, acute conditions requiring immediate physical intervention, or situations where the provider determines in-person care is required.
6. Privacy and Security
Clinical intake information you submit through affiliated clinical partner platforms is handled in accordance with those platforms' privacy practices and applicable law, including HIPAA where applicable. NoBsRx's marketing website does not store clinical intake data.
While NoBsRx and its clinical partners implement reasonable security measures, electronic transmission of health information carries inherent privacy risks. You should use a private, secure internet connection when submitting health information.
Please review the privacy notice of the specific clinical platform through which you submit your intake for information on how your clinical data is handled.
7. Alternatives to Telehealth
Telehealth provider review is one option for accessing provider-guided weight-loss treatment. Alternatives include:
- In-person consultation with a primary care physician, endocrinologist, or other licensed provider of your choice
- In-person consultation with a weight-loss medicine specialist or bariatric physician
- Consultation with any other licensed healthcare provider you have an existing relationship with
You are not required to use NoBsRx or any telehealth service. You may seek provider-guided weight-loss treatment through any licensed provider of your choosing.
8. Emergency Care Limitations
Telehealth is not emergency care. If you are experiencing a medical emergency — including chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms, severe allergic reaction, or any other condition requiring immediate medical attention — do not attempt to use the NoBsRx website or telehealth services.
Call 911 or your local emergency number immediately, or go to the nearest emergency room. NoBsRx is not equipped to respond to medical emergencies.
If at any time during your use of telehealth services you experience a medical emergency, stop using the service immediately and seek emergency care.
9. State Availability
Telehealth services, prescribing authority, and treatment availability vary by state. Laws governing telehealth, prescription, and pharmacy services differ across states and are subject to change. Not all programs or treatment options may be available in your state.
The availability of telehealth services through NoBsRx's affiliated providers is determined by applicable state law and the licensed providers' scope of practice and licensure. NoBsRx does not guarantee that any particular service is available in your state.
10. Prescription Decisions
A prescription will be issued only if an independent, licensed healthcare provider determines, in the provider's professional judgment, that a prescription is clinically appropriate based on your intake information and applicable clinical and legal standards.
Submitting an intake form, paying a platform fee, or completing any step in the NoBsRx process does not guarantee that a prescription will be issued. The provider's clinical decision is final and is not subject to override by NoBsRx.
If you are found ineligible for a prescription by the reviewing provider, NoBsRx's refund policy will apply as stated in the Refund Policy.
11. Consent to Electronic Communications
By proceeding with a clinical intake through NoBsRx or its affiliated clinical partner platform, you consent to electronic communication of your intake information to an independent, licensed healthcare provider for clinical review.
You also consent to receiving provider communications, treatment plans (if applicable), and related administrative communications electronically through the applicable clinical platform.
12. Your Responsibilities
To use telehealth services appropriately, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information in your intake form
- Disclose all relevant medical history, current medications, allergies, and health conditions to the reviewing provider
- Not withhold information that could affect the safety of any clinical decision
- Follow up with a licensed provider if your condition changes, worsens, or if you experience unexpected symptoms
- Seek in-person care when appropriate, including when recommended by the reviewing provider
- Not use telehealth services for medical emergencies
13. Right to Stop Using Telehealth
You have the right to stop using telehealth services at any time. Discontinuing telehealth services through NoBsRx does not affect any existing clinical relationship you may have with an independent licensed provider. Contact your provider directly to manage your ongoing care.
If you discontinue telehealth services before a clinical review has been completed, please review our Refund Policy for information on applicable fees.
